Question 1

What is Bantr?

Accepted Answer

Bantr is a live debate platform for structured intellectual discourse. Users host or join real-time audio and video debates where an audience watches, votes in live polls, and can request to join the stage as a speaker. Debates are organized with pro/con sides, giving every argument a clear position.

Question 2

Is Bantr a dating app?

Accepted Answer

No. Bantr (bantr.online) is a debate platform exclusively focused on structured intellectual discourse. It is not related to any dating app. Despite the similar name, Bantr is built for live debates, real-time audience voting, and meaningful public argument — not dating.

Question 3

Is Bantr free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Bantr is free to sign up and use. The free tier lets you watch debates, join as an audience member, vote in polls, and host debates up to 1 hour with up to 2 debaters and 5 rooms per day. Bantr Pro ($12.99/mo or $10/mo billed annually) unlocks longer debates, up to 4 debaters, unlimited rooms, custom categories, and analytics.

Question 4

How does live debate voting work on Bantr?

Accepted Answer

During any live Bantr debate, audience members can vote in real-time binary polls. Polls show the live vote split between the pro and con sides, updating instantly as votes come in. Hosts can trigger polls at any point in the debate. The final vote tally is recorded when the debate ends.

Question 5

Can anyone join a debate on Bantr, or just watch?

Accepted Answer

Both. Anyone can watch a live Bantr debate as an audience member — no account required. To vote in polls, chat, or request to speak on stage, you need a free account. Hosts control who speaks: they can invite specific users to the stage or approve audience requests to join as a speaker.

Question 6

What is the difference between Bantr and Twitter Spaces?

Accepted Answer

Twitter Spaces is an unstructured live audio hangout with no debate format, no pro/con sides, and no audience voting. Bantr is purpose-built for structured debate: speakers are assigned pro or con positions, the host manages who can speak, and the audience votes in real-time polls to see who is winning the argument.

Question 7

How do I become a speaker in a Bantr debate?

Accepted Answer

To become a speaker, join a live debate room as an audience member and click the 'Request to Speak' button. The host will receive your request and can approve or deny it. If approved, you join the stage with your microphone and optional camera enabled. You are automatically assigned to the debate side that needs a speaker.

Question 8

Is Bantr available on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Bantr is a web-based platform accessible on any device — desktop, tablet, or smartphone — through your browser. No app download is required. The platform is optimized for mobile and can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on iOS and Android for a native-like experience.

Question 9

What topics can I debate on Bantr?

Accepted Answer

Bantr has 10 debate categories: Politics, Technology, Philosophy, Science, Economics, Culture, Sports, Environment, Religion, and Fun. You can debate anything within those categories. Bantr Pro users can create custom categories for their community.

Question 10

What is Bantr Pro?

Accepted Answer
